Window of Opportunity

Hello!

Just have time for a quick post. I'm in the process of having some work done to my townhouse...and everything is topsy turvey. I can't wait to post photos of the before and after.

Good news though, I seized the moment and decided to have a window put in my kitchen! My townhouse is so dark in the kitchen/living room area, it's almost depressing...well, it is depressing. I need light and bright!

It felt so good to have them knock out the wall behind the sink...sunlight poured through my little window of opportunity!

  1. How exciting! Our flat that we had in Scotland didn't have a window in the kitchen and it used to frustrate me. Since it also didn't have a dishwasher, I had to spend lots of dark hours washing dishes and learning to cook. I love our kitchen now as it has a whole wall of windows, a skylight and a glass door to the backyard! Let there be light! Can't wait to see before and after pics too!

  2. That sounds fantastic. Too be fair, I'm in the process of making part of my basement the exact opposite of your kitchen. I'm shutting out all light. Can't wait to see your progress!!

  3. There is nothing more uplifting than being greeted by morning light when you first go into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee or pot of tea. I'm so happy for you and hope you have lots of fun decorating and rearranging to make everything feel special. Looking forward to seeing your before and after photos when it's all done :)

  5. Oh I love a bright sunshiny kitchen! My kitchen in Illinois was like a cave and I hated it. Good for you and your window.

    Love,

  11. I've been reading your more recent posts. Great post by Lola! And look at you wishing everyone a happy birthday, what a nice thing to do!
As for your reno, good luck! I'm going through a bathroom reno. My hubs is doing it which means I might be a few years before I see the plum paint that i picked out: the man is slower than molasses in January.

  12. Sandra, you'll have to tell me your birthday (year optional, of course).
The kitchen is almost done, but I didn't have time to take photos yet. Crazy World at my house...oh wait, that's Melynda's line.
